300971 v.2 Bachelor of Science (Physics), Bachelor of Business Administration

BSc(Curtin), BBA(Curtin)

Introduction

This double degree program is designed for students who intend to work in management roles in the private and public sector.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

Physics, Applicable Mathematics and Calculus. Candidates without some of these subjects may be admitted but will be required to complete appropriate bridging units which may result in an extension of studies beyond the normal length of the course.

Specific Requirements

The STAT is not accepted for entry to this course.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis by the course coordinator and or Head of Department.

Duration and Availability

This course is available on a full or part-time basis. Only a limited number of units can be done externally. As most classes are scheduled during daytime, part time students may only be able to complete their degree by attending these classes. Full-time students can complete the degree in a minimum of eight semesters (four years) while part-time students may complete the course in sixteen semesters

Course Organisation

The first four semesters of this course focus on the development of fundamentals in physics, mathematics, data analysis computing and business studies. The final four semesters include further business studies and studies in advanced topics in theoretical and applied physics together with a physics research project supervised by one of the Department's research groups.

Professional Recognition

Graduates from this program meet the academic requirements for Graduate membership of the Australian Institute of Physics and membership of the Australian Institute of Management.

Additional Course Expenses

Some optional units may include expenses. Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
