Telescopes and observatories. The stars - distances, motions, clusters, binary stars. The birth, life and death of stars - main sequence, red giants, white dwarfs, neutron stars and quasars, black holes. Galaxies. Nebulae. Cosmology - big bang or steady state. Practical sessions using the Questar telescope.
