Introduction
This course develops skills in, and knowledge, understanding and appreciation of, contemporary social issues, and heightened skills in social research and analysis, which assists in career development. It prepares students for new employment opportunities in a variety of public and private sector contexts that require social scientific research and analytical skills. It is designed to complement existing knowledge gained from an undergraduate qualification in any recognised area including business, humanities, sciences and education. It also offers advanced, individualised learning opportunities providing a pathway to the Master of Sustainability Studies.
Course Entry Requirments/Prequisites
A bachelor degree or equivalent in any field of study from a recognised tertiary education institution. Students may also gain entry through completion of the Graduate Certificate in Sustainability Studies. This is a suggested entry requirement only.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Creative overlap between current employment and study is emphasised - students may be awarded credit for prior learning and demonstrated skills.
Duration and Availability
This fee-paying course is two semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study.
Intermediate Awards 1
A student who has successfully completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate award(s) approved for this course are:
