Process safety in design. Process safety in operations. Defining and quantifying risk. Checklists. HAZOP studies. HAZAN techniques. Human factors. Linking HAZOP, process control, instrumentation and alarm systems. Cost of plant safety. Environmental impact. Case studies of serious plant accidents.
