Introduction

This stream provides for students who have completed a degree or a minimum of two years of a degree in the behavioural or social sciences at a recognised university and are seeking a professional qualification in social work. It assumes a previous knowledge of and builds on a broad base of social and behavioural science subjects in combination with the study of social work theory and practice, in both class and field settings. It focuses on the development of theoretical and practical knowledge and understandings that are integral to social work praxis including working with individuals and families, groups and communities, social policy and administration and research inquiry.
