Over recent years, issues relating to gender specifically women, have disappeared off Australia's policy agenda. This unit explores the effect of neo-liberal restructuring of 'welfare', the deregulation of the labour market and the shift to self-funded insurances upon women's everyday lives. Particular reference is made to women as social workers and as the clients of support services.
