Syllabus: | Conversation practice on a variety of topics. Discussions in Japanese about the contents of newspaper reports and magazine articles. Introduction of idiomatic phrases. Writing a critical essay. Introduction of 100 new Kanji. Not available to students whose first language is Japanese. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- The ability to comprehend everyday conversation and simple sentences aurally. The ability to communicate verbally on topics such as university life and future career. The ability to comprehend complex written sentences with the aid of dictionaries and handle Japanese language programs on computer for writing and for the purpose of gathering information. |
