Syllabus: | The relationship between heritage and national identity. The role of collecting intuitions in the production and dissemination of national heritages. The contested nature of heritage production and dissemination. Contemporary governmental, technological and economic contexts affecting the Australian heritage industry. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have- Understood how heritage practice has changed over time. Understood and debated over the ideological nature of heritage representations. Explored the links between heritage representations and social, cultural, economic and technological contexts. Developed the ability to critically assess readings, collecting practices and exhibitions. |
