Introduction
This course is designed for professionals already in the field of language teaching. The course, which concentrates on Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages (TESOL), considers issues connected with TESOL teaching in Australia and the region and the teaching of Asian Languages within Australia. The School in which the course is run has particular expertise in teaching English as well as Modern Standard Chinese, Indonesian, Japanese and Korean. The course is designed for teachers intending to work in Australia and overseas and is available to international students.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
An approved bachelor degree, a four year teacher qualification, or a postgraduate qualification or equivalent. A proven research background - for example Researching Language 500, which will allow for the successful completion of Language Project 600. Appropriate teaching experience.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
Duration and Availability
This fee-paying course is one year full-time or equivalent part-time study.
Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
