Introduction

This professional masters course is designed for experienced professionals in electronic business or information technology who recognise the need to increase their knowledge and skills in the planning, application and management of global electronic business environments. The course incorporates a range of new concepts, methodologies and technologies aimed at supporting organisations in achieving corporative objectives by the application of computing and communications based technologies in electronic business environments.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability

This fee paying course is one and a half years full-time or equivalent part-time study.

Intermediate Awards

A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Postgraduate Diploma in Electronic Business may apply under exceptional circumstance provisions for graduation in that award, subject to approval of the Head of School/Department. Course Organisation

The Master of Electronic Business consists of 12 units of study. The core areas studied includes managing information systems projects and risks, enterprise network infrastructure, information security management, object oriented programming, web design and architecture, organisational behaviour, research methods and problem solving. Students may undertake a research project or choose optional units from the areas of object-oriented design, datamining and advanced database design, enterprise network security, strategic logistics management, web services, enterprise network management, strategic alignment of information systems, business intelligence and cyberwarfare,

Professional Recognition

With a prior computing related degree graduates may apply for membership of the Australian Computer Society and the British Computing Society.

Career Opportunities

Masters graduates generally find employment in management and leadership roles within private and public organisations carrying out electronic business.

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
