Syllabus:

Information systems and information technology planning. Integration of information systems planning and business planning. Determining organisational information needs. Competitive advantage and globalisation. Evaluation of IS/IT investments.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Understood the nature of strategy and strategic planning, and their purpose in modern business environments. Understood Information Systems Strategy Formulation and Information Systems Planning in contemporary business organisations and government. Understood the need for integration of the Information System plan with the corporate plan. Appreciated the role of Information Systems/Information Technology in contemporary organisations, and can plan in order to benefit from the investment in Information Systems/Information Technology.
