Introduction

This course provides skills and knowledge to bring to professional life an understanding and appreciation of contemporary social issues and heightened skills in social research and analysis, and assists in career development. It prepares for new employment opportunities in a variety of public and private sector contexts requiring social scientific research and analytical skills. It is designed to complement existing knowledge gained from an undergraduate qualification in any recognised area, including business, humanities, sciences and education. Students may upgrade studies to complete a Graduate Diploma in Sustainability Studies offering more advanced, individualised learning opportunities also provides a pathway to the Master of Sustainability Studies.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

A bachelors degree from a recognised tertiary education institution.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Creative overlap between current employment and study is emphasised. Credit may be awarded for prior learning and demonstrated existing skills.

Duration and Availability

This fee paying course is one semester full-time or equivalent part time study.

Additional Course Expenses

Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
