Introduction
This course has been designed for professional supply chain and logistics specialists who are interested in developing careers in Supply Chain and Logistics. Areas of study relate to logistics knowledge systems nationally and globally. It includes transportation, physical distribution, procurement, purchasing, warehousing, inventory, retailing and electronic linkages with government and private industries. The course is designed to meet the needs of those with logistics, distribution or transportation management or supervisory skills with or without a first degree. Many of these practitioners have numerous years of experience and do not have a formal education in logistics. It allows student progression into the Graduate Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain upon satisfactory completion.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
Entry is limited to applicants with either a relevant degree from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent and relevant work experience in logistics and supply chain, a minimum of five years logistics industry experience in management or supervisory positions. Applicants will also be required to fulfil the criteria specified for mature age entry, with entry subject to approval by the Program Manager or the Head of School of Information Systems.
Duration and Availability
This fee-paying course is of one semester full-time or equivalent part-time study.
Professional Recognition
Graduates are eligible for membership in the Chartered Institution of Transport and membership in the Logistics Association of Australia (W.A.).
Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
