Syllabus: | Introduction to the principles of logistics management. Logistics as the management of flow of goods and services in profit and non profit organisations. Overview of some typical logistics activities - transportation, material and inventory management, distribution, customer service, information systems and order processing. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - An appreciation of a range of techniques, tools and methods used in logistics area. Developed introductory level appreciation of a range of widely used activities in accepted logistics and supplychain areas. Described and appreciated the complexity of logistics management. An awareness of the career openings in the logistics and supply chain areas. |
