Syllabus: |
Development of a principles approach to pathophysiology through discussion of process of pathology from a cellular level, systemic to organ failure, systematic malfunction and the appearance of clinical signs and symptoms. Topics include, the nature and classification of disease, the genetic basis of disease, cellular injury, inflammation, infection, neoplasia and fluid and electrolyte balance. Systematic pathophysiology concentrates on the gastrointestinal, endocrine and cardiovascular and renal systems. There is considerable emphasis on a case study approach. |
