Syllabus: |
Provides a broad understanding of ecology of marine and freshwater environments. Topics covered include the effect of unique habitat conditions of each type of ecosystem on species distributions, disturbances in aquatic ecosystems, aquaculture pond ecology, effects of predator and prey interactions. Emphasis on polyculture aquatic systems and wild stock fisheries, comparison production economics of polyculture and monoculture systems, human impact on aquatic ecosystems, and the impact of aquaculture on ecological systems. |
