Syllabus:

Nuclear medicine component - principles of nuclear medicine imaging of various systems and organs, skeletal, pulmonary, cardiovascular, endocrine and central nervous systems, renal, gastro-intestinal tract (including blood loss), liver, spleen and infection/inflammatory disease imaging. Radionuclide therapy and tracer principles. Integration and application of the common studies and practical aspects of instrumentation. Radiopharmacy component - production of radionuclides: characteristics and basic concepts of the chemistry of radiopharmaceuticals, manufacture and use of cold kits. Radiopharmaceutical preparation, dispensing and behavior in vivo. Labelling blood components. Non imaging radiopharmaceuticals. Practical application of the basic principles. Computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance (MRI) and interventional component - CT and MRI scanning. Asepsis. Arthrography. Myelography, use of catheters in vascular radiography and venography. Interventional radiography, neuro-radiography, cardiac catheterisation, vascular angiography and digital subtraction angiography.
