Syllabus: |
An introduction to some of the major ideas and events in the history of art. Designed as a basic introduction to the history of ideas and the effects such ideas have had on the evolution of art. While the unit has a Euro-centric bias, students are introduced to ideas from other cultural histories as an integral part of the unit. Students are taught the visual literacy needed to be able to understand the history and the contemporary practice of art. |
