Opportunities are offered at Curtin to students from abroad to undertake studies for credit to their degree at their home university but not take a degree from this University. Students participate by applying directly to Curtin. Students applying independently pay tuition to Curtin.
To be eligible to study at Curtin through its study abroad programs applicants must have successfully completed at least one year of study at a recognised university or college, and have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75 on a four point scale (or an approved equivalent), and demonstrate academic support from the home university or college, and meet English language requirements as shown at http://studyabroad.curtin.edu.au/studyab/englang.htm
One semester up to one academic year commencing at the beginning of each semester.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.

Currently enrolled Curtin students may undertake studies abroad independently. Students apply for leave of absence from Curtin and negotiate for exemptions on successful completion of their studies. Participants do not accrue a HECS liability or tuition debt but pay tuition to the institution abroad.
