This course provides a professional award for graduates in medical science or related areas interested in biomedical science. Students develop an understanding of the latest techniques involved in the relevant areas of biomedical sciences, of undertakingan extensive review of the literature and carrying out a supervised research project. It also provides the opportunity to take coursework units from other disciplines, eg computing or business.
An approved undergraduate degree in medical science or a related area, and at least two years relevant work experience.
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
This fee-paying course is three semesters full-time or equivalent part-time study. It can be completed in one calendar year.
A student who has successfully completed the requirements of an approved intermediate award may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School/Department. Fees apply. Intermediate awards approved for this course appear below.
Postgraduate Diploma in Biomedical Science.
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other essential study materials.
