Syllabus:

Linear and matrix algebra I. Complex numbers and functions. Functions of several variables and first-order differential equations. Second-order ordinary differential equations.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On completion of this unit, students will have - Demonstrated basic skills in algebra of matrices and vectors. Gained understanding of the basics of complex numbers and functions. Developed understanding of the analytical solution of ordinary differential equations. Gained understanding of the application of ordinary differential equations to problems arising in industry. Demonstrated numerical skills in approximating solutions of ordinary differential equations. Demonstrated skills in the use of a symbolic mathematical package.
