Syllabus: | Periodontology - aetiology, pathogenesis and host response review, assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment planning, prevention and treatment methods for chronic periodontitis, post-treatment care, maintenance, epidemiology. General - record keeping, occupational health issues. Dental radiography - radiation, machines, films, quality, safety, periapicals, bitewings, occlusals, post-clinical procedures, interpretation, errors, lateral obliques, panoramic radiographs. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - Demonstrated knowledge of patient assessment and record keeping procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of chronic periodontal disease and its management. Demonstrated knowledge of dental radiography procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of specific patient care procedures. |
