Syllabus:

Corporate strategies and how they are formulated and implemented. The combination of the external environment and an organisations internal structure and processes affect the strategic actions of a business. Copious use of models and current examples from the business world emphasize practicality over theory.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Explored and critically evaluated the various issues related to strategy creation and implementation, so that they may develop for themselves a practical approach to apply in a work setting. Beenencouraged to develop expertise in reviewing and formulating strategic plans. Examined the various alternatives that exist in order to see how strategy depends on the context.

Unit Assessment Breakdown:

Assessment will be in two parts. A pass must be achieved in both parts to pass the unit. Part A - Class participation 10%. Multiple choice quizzes 15%. In term test 35%. Part B - Individual mini case study 20%. Group case study 20%. This is by grade/mark assessment.
