Syllabus: | Corporate strategies and how they are formulated and implemented. The combination of the external environment and an organisations internal structure and processes affect the strategic actions of a business. Copious use of models and current examples from the business world emphasize practicality over theory. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have - Explored and critically evaluated the various issues related to strategy creation and implementation, so that they may develop for themselves a practical approach to apply in a work setting. Beenencouraged to develop expertise in reviewing and formulating strategic plans. Examined the various alternatives that exist in order to see how strategy depends on the context. |

Unit Assessment Breakdown: | Assessment will be in two parts. A pass must be achieved in both parts to pass the unit. Part A - Class participation 10%. Multiple choice quizzes 15%. In term test 35%. Part B - Individual mini case study 20%. Group case study 20%. This is by grade/mark assessment. |
