Syllabus: | Introduction and the development of higher order skills in manual therapy for the spinal column and peripheral articulations, including exercise prescription. Formation and testing of diagnostic hypotheses in neuromusculoskeletal disorders and the development of treatment prescriptions. |

Unit Outcomes: | Upon completion of the unit students will have - Demonstrated at an advanced level clinical competence in the manual therapy examination, treatment and assessment of extremity articular disorders, and of spinal disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Demonstrated at an advanced level clinical competence in the physical examination and treatment of disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system, and the principles of exercise therapy prescription. Diagnosed, categorised and determined the stage of neuromusculoskeletal disorders and the indications and contra-indications for manual therapy prescription including exercise. Identified types of disorders requiring medical opinion, medical treatment or appropriate forms of physiotherapy treatment other than manual therapy. |
