Syllabus: | Guided independent study of a particular topic presented either as a literature review directed towards the definition and evaluation of a viticultural problem or as a research project on a current viticultural issue. The experiment is established at local vineyards. Students collect and analyse the data and prepare a report. |

Unit Outcomes: | Examine the generic research process as it relates to viticulture. Apply presentation techniques to a scientific project proposal. Conduct a detailed review of the literature to assist in setting research objectives and establishing the current body of knowledge for a chosen aspect of viticulture. Consider experimental design options appropriate for meeting select research objectives. |
