Syllabus:

Principles of operation of transport systems. Introduction to highway engineering and traffic analysis. Road vehicle performance. Principles of geometric design of highways, railways, airport and ports.
 

Unit Outcomes:

The student will become acquainted with the historical development of transport and introduced to different modes of transport and their relationship to current transport problems, transportation planning processes and operating characteristics of different modes of transport.
