Syllabus:

The physiology and nutritional requirements of ruminants including sheep, beef and diary. The physiology and nutritional requirements of swine, poultry, selected fowl, exotic birds and animals used for human consumption.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have - Demonstrated an understanding of the physiology of domestic animals used for human consumption. Demonstrated an understanding of the role of nutrition in modifying domestic animal body consumption. Demonstrated an understanding of the importance of nutrition in optimising domestic animal production.
