Syllabus: | Introduction of computer applications in mineral exploration, using Micromine and Arc View. Exploration drilling and the logging of various drilling materials will also be taught through visits to active exploration and mining operations. Open pit mapping and underground mapping exercises. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this Unit students will have the abilities to produce digital maps and cross sections and use a geographic information systems and be familiar with exploration drilling techniques, core logging and mine mapping. |
