Syllabus: | Develops skills in the use of portable video production equipment and its application in a broadcast environment. Work on projects developed by the students themselves, and on news and current affairs projects in association with Broadcast Journalism students. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have - Understood the basic processes of broadcast television production, with a particular emphasis on multi-cam, studio-based production. Been able to carry out the various roles and functions associated with multi-camera, studio-based production. Understood the interface between location and studio program content and be able to incorporate both in productions. Understood the roles of, and relationships between, key elements of the broadcast industry such as journalist/reporters and production crews and understand the role of the latter in news and current affairs production. Been able to make informed decisions in relation to stylistic, technical and economic aspects of productions on which they occupy roles. A knowledge of the studio production techniques used in various genres of television programs. |
