Syllabus:

Practical introduction to students to the key elements of screen production - mise-en-scene, montage, composition and narrative structure. Students work in small groups on a number of production exercises and projects to gain introductory experiences in areas such as editing, camera, lighting, sound recording and directing.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit students will have- An understanding of key aspects of screen language within a practical framework, narrative structures and how to use them in completing short exercises. Developed skills in the use of basic production equipment and an understanding of and be able to work within standard operating systems and protocols.
