Syllabus: | Examination of pumps and pipes and their usage in contemporary aquaculture. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit students will have- evaluated different water pump types and assess their suitability for a range of pond culture and tank culture scenarios. Familiarised with the concepts of head loss and friction loss. Become competent in the dismantling and re-assembly of common pump types. Understood the difference and similarities of paddlewheel aeration, oxygen diffusion, direction injection, venture systems, and air-lift designs. |
