Syllabus:

Health history - principles and practice of health history of varying ages in multiple settings. A head-to-toe physical assessment with adults, the elderly and children. Use of clinical skills for assessment and specific purposes with rationales and documentation.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Recorded a health history of an adult. Performed a head- to- toe physical assessment. Used assessment skills to monitor temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure and special senses of sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste. Used specific skills for urine testing, blood glucose monitoring, fluid balance, administering of medications, collection of specimens, health care documentation, reporting and referring.
