Syllabus:

Theoretical and historical perspectives on school-based curriculum development. Curriculum design processed for developmental curriculum in the core learning areas. Curriculum assessment and evaluation across the school. Values of education in the school curriculum. Roles of teachers in school-based decision-making.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have identified the skills required in the process of SBCD. Reflected upon the role of teachers and schools in the process of SBCD. Examined the design of curriculum appropriate to enhance access, equity, gender, special needs and ethnicity. Developed a collaborative curriculum intervention to meet particular needs of a learning area.
