Syllabus: | Incorporates two individual tasks, the development of an article for an international audience and a presentation of research on a topic from the unit text. In addition there are two group tasks, an oral group presentation and a written group report analysing cross-cultural media representations. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- An understanding of different cultural approaches to learning and research. An understanding of the influence of language and culture on human behaviour. An understanding of how media events are contextualised within a cultural framework and the ability to report in and analyse various media articles from a variety of cultures. An understanding of the intercultural system created when participants of groups do not share the same cultural norms and the ability to display cooperative learning techniques. |
