Syllabus:

Basic principles of people management within the legislative framework, including occupational health and safety, management and leadership theories, entrepreneurship, workplace agreements, state and federal awards, work contracts, employee recruitment, selection, termination and appraisal methods. Differences between small, medium, large organisations from cellarhands to management levels.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On completion of this unit students will have - Explained the management of human resources within the legislative framework. Understood current legislation with regard to occupational health and safety. Outlined the differences between awards for staff from cellar hands to management levels. Described management and leadership theories.
