Syllabus:

The study of properties, selection criteria and how to apply materials for interiors. Approaching interiors with sound environmental considerations, material selection, longevity. Designing interiors for construction - understanding specific construction detailing and integrating conceptual design work into a buildable solution.
 

Unit Outcomes:

On successful completion of this unit, students will have- Developed an understanding and skills to enhance the creative and functional aspects of of interiors projects in the following areas: Introduction of how to design for construction. Introduction of how to draw interiors for construction. Knowledge of the physical and visual characteristics of the basic building materials used in interiors. Experience in the integration of conceptual design into a buildable solution. Developing team work skills through practise.
