Syllabus: | The analysis and assessment of the characteristics of landscape provision, use and management in the urban environment in addition to aspects of local open space design. Particular emphasis will be places on the role of the planner in landscape provisionusing the Perth situation as a framework for outlining the scope of planning controls in creating landscaped spaces. |

Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit, students will have- An understanding of the history and evolution of urban landscape components. An appreciation of the role and impact of planning controls in the provision of landscaped spaces. An appreciation of the aesthetic, functional and ecological role of landscape within urban areas. Developed landscape design skills. |
