Syllabus: | Refinement of imaging skills developed in Medical Imaging Science 122 in radiography of the chest, abdomen, extremities, shoulder and pelvic girdles. Development of imaging skills and application of geometric principles and axial relationships in relation to radiography of the thoracic cage and spine. Handling of instrumentation for general contrast procedures, mobile and theatre radiography. Clinical experience in radiography of the chest, abdomen, upper and lower extremities, and the shoulder and pelvic girdles. |
|
Unit Outcomes: | On successful completion of this unit the student will gain familiarity with the clinical center routine protocols and administrative procedures and their first clinical experience with radiography of the chest, abdomen, shoulder and pelvic girdles and the extremities. They will be better apt to deal with the common modifications to technique and technical factors due to patient difficulty and should be able to perform basic positioning skills for the thoracic cage, the whole spine, general contrast procedures and set-up mobile equipment for simple mobile and theatre procedures. |
