Introduction
Over the past few years the rise in conducting business electronically has brought issues of supply and demand to the forefront. The logistics industry has become a growth area and the demand for professionals in the field of logistics and e-commerce is rising. This course is designed for those who wish to increase their skills and knowledge in the logistics and electronic business areas. Course participants graduate with a balance of technical and theoretical knowledge as well as the expertise required to work in a electronic business environment in transport and logistics for either industry or government employers.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Intermediate Awards
A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Graduate Certificate of Electronic Business may apply under exceptional circumstance provisions for graduation in that award, subject to approval of the Head of School/Department. For further definition refer to the Statement and Awards section under General Information.

Course Organisation
This program covers two main areas - the technology and management aspects, and logistics studies. The material studied covers managing information systems projects and risks, electronic business infrastructure, global distribution and transportation, electronic business security, advanced problem solving for information systems managers.

Professional Recognition
With a prior computing related degree graduates may be able to apply and obtain membership of the Australian Computer Society and the British Computing Society. Students successfully completing the degree may also be able to apply for membership of the Hong Kong chapter of the Chartered Association of Logistics and Transport.

Career Opportunities
Students generally find employment in organisations involved in logistics and electronic business.

Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
