Introduction
This course reflects the integration of industrial relations and human resource management functions at the level of the enterprise. It is designed for those intending to make a career in the employee relations field and have qualifications in other disciplines, or who have extensive experience in the human resource management area, have successfully completed the Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management and wish to obtain a relevant or higher academic qualification to enable them to progress toexecutive positions in this field.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
A bachelor degree, other than one with a major or minor in human resource management or industrial relations, from a recognised Australian tertiary institution, or an equivalent qualification or successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in HumanResource Management.

Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.

Duration and Availability
This fee-paying course is four semesters part-time study. However, full-time study is available to suitable applicants on approval by the Course Coordinator.

Intermediate Awards
A student who has successfully completed all the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management may apply for graduation in that award subject to approval of the Head of School. For further definition refer to the Statement and Awards section under General Information.

Course Organisation
Other units may be approved by the Course Coordinator. International students may consult with the Course Coordinator to discuss the substitution of units more appropriate to a non-Australian environment.

Additional Course Expenses
Students may be expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other vital study materials. In addition, students may also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
