Introduction
This course provides a fourth year of individual research in studio practice and advanced theoretical studies in contemporary visual art. It emphasises the interconnectedness of theory and practice and provides opportunities for inter-disciplinary studies. This course is an ideal preparation for higher degree studies.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
Refer to Admission into Honours Degree Programs and Regulations for Honours Degrees (General Information section). Only students with outstanding performance in undergraduate studio practice will be considered for entry to the honours program. Students intending to apply for entry must have achieved a minimum course weighted average of 65 per cent. Candidates must inform the Honours Coordinator of their intention to apply for entry to the honours program by the end of fifth semester.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
Duration and Availability
The honours program is one year full-time or equivalent part-time study.
Additional Course Expenses
Students are expected to purchase a number of textbooks, readers and other study materials. In addition, students will also need to contribute some of the cost of consumables, which varies depending on the area of study.
