Basic principles and concepts of physiology introduced in Human Biology 133 and 134. Major topics include - cell membrane transport and ionic equilibria, nerve and muscle function, cellular metabolism, secretion and absorption. Cellular signalling - receptors and messengers. Hormonal regulation. Energy balance, metabolic rate and regulation of body temperature.
