Definition of crops and the characteristics of cultivation. Factors affecting growth. Mineral nutrition, weeds and control, soil fertility and fertilisers, water, cultural practices. Plant improvement, maximisation of yields and storage. An experimental study of native plant growth is the focus of the practical work.
