The concepts of hazard, harms and risk and the nature of environmental hazards. Health risk and needs assessment. Managing environmental health risks, planning and implementing health protection. Legal and non-statutory frameworks in environmental health. Community development, analysis, and participatory action research. A review of the application of the principles of health protection and health promotion in selected case studies.
