Syllabus: | Introduction to the tools of the Interior Designer and how they are integrated into Interior Architecture. Although exploring interior from a holistic perspective, it also identifies the range of constituent aspects: terminology and concepts for each, as well key principles and strategies for working with these elements. Students will be exposed through design exercises to discipline exemplars thereby highlighting strategies for application and innovation. Aspects such as colour and light; lighting; materials, finishes and decoration; noise, sound, acoustics; space and volume; furniture and furnishings; technology and structure will be the foci. |
