Syllabus: | The City as Cultural Artefact: its conditions and spaces. Studio includes two integrated components: Design - studies of the relationship between idea, space, form and structure as it is related to human culture; analysis of the city as a representation of collective values; analysis, interpretation and creation of the elements of the city including interiors, gardens, squares, streets, stairs, doors, gates, windows; and Methods - an introduction to sketching, diagramming, photography, orthographic projection and modeling; their histories, techniques and applications. |
