Introduction
The Curtin Graduate Certificate in Procurement is designed to develop knowledge of procurement theory and practice. The curriculum focuses on understanding and engaging with current and future business challenges in the global environment. The Graduate Certificate in Procurement is an ideal course for those wishing to tailor their own study program. It is also an important entry point for those wishing to pursue a Master of Business Administration.
Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites
A bachelor degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution or equivalent, and at least three years relevant work experience. Well-performing candidates without a first degree will be considered on the basis of significant work experience (at least 8 years) at a recognisable level of responsibility. Selection, which is competitve, will be based on a range of information including grades achieved in previous study, referee reports, relevance of work experience, career aspirations and test results. Applicants are required to submit referee reports and a CV. Interviews will also be required.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Applications for recognition of prior learning are assessed on an individual basis.
Duration and Availability
This course is between four to six months full-time or equivalent part-time study. It is offered on a trimester (four months) and semester (six months) basis. Course Organisation
The Graduate Certificate in Procurement is awarded on satisfactory completion of three compulsory units (Organisational Behaviour 550, Contract and Procurement Optimisation 501, Legal Environment 561) and an optional unit which is listed within a choice business and procurement units. Students wishing to articulate to the Master of Business Administration (Strategic Procurement) should consult with the course advisor. This graduate certificate is available fully on-line.
