311190 v.2 Enrolled Nurse to Registered Nurse Stream (BSc Nursing)

Introduction

This stream is available in both semester one and two and is taken by students who are currently enrolled with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia with a minimum of one year of clinical practice experience. Overseas students with experience and a qualification assessed as equivalent may apply. Applications for this pathway should be submitted through TISC. International students apply through Curtin International Office on line. Students must meet the English Language entry requirements.

Course Entry Requirements/Prerequisites

To gain entry to this stream, applicants must be currently enrolled with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia and able to meet University entrance requirements. In addition, the professional entrance criterion of a minimum of one year work experience, or equivalent, as an Enrolled Nurse must be met. Recognition of prior learning for overseas trained enrolled nurses is considered; applicants must meet university entry and nursing language requirements and be eligible for enrolment with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia. They must have a minimum of one year related work experience.

Applicants for this course should also see advice for Clinical Health Science students (see page 36). STAT elements considered are E and V, however applicants must also meet prerequisite requirements listed above in order to be eligible for the course.

2 years' full-time study or part-time equivalent.
