This double major program provides graduates with a solid background in the principles and practices of scientific computing and chemistry. It prepares students for a range of employment opportunities that require computing and technological skills combined with a sound knowledge of the chemical sciences. Examples of such careers include computational chemists working in the pharmaceutical industry; scientific instrument software engineers developing programs for modern instrumentation; chemical scientists utilizing data and information management systems in the modern laboratory; and chemical researchers developing unique computer controlled research instrumentation.
